Find Freelance Jobs Here:

I found my home in Essays.ph

I found my home in Essays.ph

For those who aren’t yet aware, I’ve already been doing Freelance work online since around 2005. Working online was a tough decision I had to make because freelancing then wasn’t yet that popular and back then there were still too many bogus clients since trustworthy freelance platforms - like Essays.ph - didn’t exist yet. Though it was hard at first, I had no other choice because I just wouldn’t get hired anywhere. (Yup, that’s what always happens after going to college.) I didn’t want to work as a fast-food crew so I decided to just stick with doing freelance work online. I focused on being a freelance writer. It’s what I enjoyed doing most - writing.

The very first projects I had back then were academic papers. I never tried data entry because most scams - based on my anxious scam researches online - came from that department. On the other hand, what I did find out was that the very “company” I was working for was also a fraud. They did pay me, and paid me on time, but I read a reliable list of scam sites online and the company was listed. The company’s website - the URL of which was kept secret from us staff - actually claimed on their site that their essay/ acad. paper writers are native English speakers experts in their fields or topics (MA and PhD holders). I am not a native English speaker and I’m not an MA or PhD holder, LOL. And alas, I also found out how much the company was actually selling our papers for - like $20/ $30/ $50. The writers, including me, only received a miniscule of their profits - $2/ $3/ $5. It was so sad to find out I was an exploited Filipino writer. (BTW I also repulsed at the idea that students wouldn’t write their own assignments and just order papers from these kinds of websites. I was disgusted.)

So I left the academic papers field and tried web content writing. Ah, web content writing. I liked seeing my articles published online, though not under my name. I was a ghost writer. I found a site, much like Essays.ph (I already forgot the name) and they actually paid their writers. So, I was thankful it was not a scam but my only regret was they paid minimally, and there aren’t assignments always, or rather, there were assignments only sometimes, ouch. Imagine dry spells for 30 days straight. How am I supposed to live on that? Once again, I left work there - ‘coz there’s virtually no work there and I tried looking for similar sites. I did find a freelancers website this time. A platform where people can sign up either as an outsourcing client or a freelancer. A client would post his project and freelancers would “bid” or apply for the project. Competition was tough because you had to stand out from the rest of the applicants but the pay was good. My only problem was (I always seem to have problems with certain sites) - at times I wouldn’t get any projects at all and at times I would get too many all at the same time I almost couldn’t handle it. It drove me nuts! I thought the whole idea behind working freelance online was to be able to work at your own pace...

I did find an Australian client though whom I was lucky to have worked with for more than one year (1 ½ years actually) and he paid me handsomely (by ‘handsomely’ I mean I was getting paid like a call center agent but only, I worked  4-6 hours a day :-P Sad to say, some contracts just have to end - i.e. because the client wanted to shift industries - so okay, I was back to free-floating.

I guess God is really good to me because every time a door closes, he opens another one. Every time I left a company or a client, I found a new one - and always a better one to boot. I found Essays.ph. I can say that I finally found my home. EPH is not just a company that employs freelance writers; it’s a (proudly) Filipino owned company - with an actual office (in Makati). There are assignments almost 100% of the time. The pay is considerable, and finally, I am part of a family. Essays.ph isn’t just a company; it’s a community, a hang-out, and a training ground for writers. I have never felt so happy I never have to work alone anymore and I never have to struggle. I may not become a millionaire in here, but do you think that is what 1) freelance/ 2) writers like me are after? :-)

I’m happy I found my home! - annamae38

Is it really to possible to get some income from the internet? Yes, a lot of people have done it, even teenagers and part-time students. It is a wrong conception that you need money in order to make money. Not all businesses really need capital or a huge start-up cost. Take for instance babysitting and/or dog walking businesses. If you know someone who might enlist your services as a babysitter or dog walker, then grab the chance! Maybe your neighbor would be going out of town and couldn’t find a babysitter right away. Offer you help and you’ll earn money in an instant. If you are living close to a park then you can stroll around befriending people with their pets and ask if they would want you to pet-sit or work as a dog walker for their pooch when they’re sick or not around. These are great ways on how to make extra money without spending anything.

You can also work as a driver or errands person for a senior citizen living within or near your area. A lot of seniors these days don’t have families living with them so they would really appreciate help from a good-spirited neighbor like you. If you have the patience and skills to teach, you could even give your senior friend some computer lessons for a good amount of income.

The real idea behind making extra money on the side is earning some money with no or very minimal effort or expenses. The best way to do this is to utilize your current skills and resources. Sometimes, you can even take advantage of the season. You can get paid watching your neighbor’s house when they are out on a summer vacation, or offer to rake their yard during fall season. You can even be the regular guy tasked with mowing their lawn on a regular basis. Who knows you could even learn some basic gardening or landscaping skills to upgrade your services. Many people too could appreciate an extra helping hand during the winter season. Snow shoveling would be a good business this particular time of the year.

Oftentimes, knowing how to make extra money only takes some common sense and creativity. If you already have a lot of things piling up in your basement or attic, then hold a garage sale to earn some cash. If you like crafting or DIY, then you can turn trash into treasures and sell them for a good price. Cheap materials can be bought from craft stores. You can sell your creations on a bazaar or online specifically on Etsy. Craiglist is also good site to sell your items because it is localized so you really don’t have to hassle on shipment.

Need quick money but don’t have a lot of time or skills? Rent out a room in your house. Students everywhere are searching for a good place to stay. You can even get a roommate if you live in an apartment. This will split the bill and save you money if not help you earn some. There are a lot more ways you can earn money. Ask your friends/ family or search for the best ideas online on how to make extra money instantly. Note: you really don’t have to spend a thing.

How to Make Money Online for Free through Blogging

Did you know you can make money online writing about stuffs you are personally interested in? You can try blogging for cash. This is one of the most popular and easiest ways on how to make money online for free. Yes, it is free. Just set up a free blog on Wordpress or Blogger and you are ready to go. So how does it work?

Getting paid to blog is really about advertising. Most businesses these days have websites they are seeking to promote. To get the word out about their site or business, they pay bloggers to write a blog post or review about their business, product, or company with a link back to their website. Yes, it is as simple as that. But not anyone who has a blog can get hired for this, especially if you blog is just fairly new. Most often, you will be required to have a blog that is at least one to three months old to be able join and participate in PayPerPost or other similar blog marketing platforms. Even if you offer your blogging services as an individual, clients will still verify if your blog has already been around for a while and getting lots of regular page views or “traffic”. Thus you would need to learn a little bit about SEO or website optimization. You can read everything about this online (for free).

If your blog is just new and isn’t attracting clients or businesses yet, for the meantime you can insert advertisement codes from a Google Adsense, Chitika, or other similar programs. You will get paid per impression or cost-per-click. Again, you would need to develop you blog to increase its PR or Page Rank and get more site visitors who would see and click on your ads. A good technique is to network with other bloggers and guest blog for their blogs. You will write a blog post for their site free in exchange only of a link back to your blog. This is a great way to increase your blog’s exposure and search engine visibility.

On the other hand, if you don’t think you have what it takes to develop and maintain your own blog in order to get paid while blogging, then you can always work as a “ghost blogger.” This is yet another great idea on how to make money online for free. What you do is look for freelancer websites and sign-up for free. Once you’ve registered, you can now view a list of jobs from clients looking for web content writers or bloggers. You will write articles or blogs for their sites and then get paid instantly. The only downside to this is that you don’t get to retain the rights to your articles. All rights automatically become transferred to the client. (That is why it is called “ghost blogging” – you write blogs or articles as if you were the client.) Doing this job though, you get a handsome pay for your skills as a writer/ blogger.

If you haven’t yet tried ways on how to make money online for free, then you should definitely try blogging. It will also hone your writing skills.
